A bold and visually engaging French advertising poster created around 1925 by artist Henri Delval, promoting the anise-flavored aperitif Fap’Anis. Printed by Publicité Wall in Paris using the color lithograph process, the work reflects the dynamic graphic style and striking visual appeal of early 20th-century French poster art.

The poster advertises a pastis produced by the Peureux Distillery, a historic French producer founded in 1864 by Auguste Peureux in Fougerolles in the Haute-Saône region. Originally known for fruit brandies and kirsch, the distillery shifted toward anise-flavored spirits in the early 1920s following changing tastes and the growing popularity of pastis and anisette aperitifs in France.

In 1921, the sons of André Peureux introduced the Fap’Anis brand. The name itself was derived from their initials, creating a distinctive and memorable identity for the product. Posters such as this were central to building brand recognition during the golden age of lithographic advertising, when vibrant large-format prints were displayed in cafés, streets, and shop windows across France.

With its impressive scale and rich color lithography, this mounted example stands as both a compelling decorative statement and an important piece of early 20th-century advertising history—ideal for collectors of vintage posters, French aperitif culture, or Art Deco-era graphic design.
