Dating back to the Song Dynasty, ceramic garden stools were traditionally used in Chinese residential courtyards as functional outdoor seating during the warmer months. By the mid-20th century, these objects became coveted staples of Western interior design, heavily popularized by the Chinoiserie movement.

This ceramic piece has been well-preserved and maintains an excellent decorative presence.

Integrity: No structural cracks, deep fissures, or major ceramic repairs. The stool is heavy and completely stable.

Glaze & Surface: The glossy glaze and detailed scrollwork show a beautifully aged depth. Expect minor, typical manufacturing glaze pops, tiny pinholes, and faint shelf wear on the underside contact points, all original to the artisan production process.
